Privacy Policy

Oxford Postpartum Medical Practice (OPPMP) needs to collect personal data to provide its service and has a privacy policy in place to ensure this is held and processed correctly. Any personal information we hold about you is stored and processed in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) (Article 9 – processing of special categories of personal data) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Oxford Postpartum Medical Practice is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Personal data collected by OPPMP

OPPMP collects personal data relating to demographic details and health and medical data required to carry out the service provided.

Storing and processing data

Personal data is stored and processed in line with UK GDPR regulations. OPPMP uses Semble as a secure data processor, which stores client data in line with UK GDPR and CQC standards.

Sharing data

A client’s health data may be shared with other healthcare professionals where relevant and with the individual client’s consent. Semble enables secure sharing of health data. A summary of each consultation is sent to the client and copied to their GP, with the client’s consent. This summary, or another clinical letter, may be sent to other healthcare professionals where it has been agreed with the client that this would be beneficial to the client. All correspondence sent to other healthcare professionals will be accessible to the client as well. There are some very limited circumstances in  which data sharing could be required even without client consent – OPPMP follows relevant legislation and GMC requirements on this. Client data will never be sold to third party organisations.

Client rights to access data

Clients can access their data, clinic summaries, and letters to other healthcare professionals on Semble, which is a password protected electronic health system, which complies with UK GDPR standards and CQC requirements for protection of client medical data. Clients can request a copy of all information OPPMP holds about them, and requests should be made in writing to Dr Catherine Quarini (Data Protection Lead). This will be responded to within 30 days and a reasonable administrative charge will apply. If a client believes OPPMP holds inaccurate or incomplete information about the client, the client can request that this is corrected.
